We've teamed up with one of our favorite local caterers to offer something special: a relaxed, design-forward micro wedding experience that feels high on heart and low on hassle.

Tucked in the natural beauty of upstate New York, with breathtaking vistas of the Catskill Mountains, Black Walnut Farm is an intimate wedding haven in the Hudson Valley.
Our micro wedding packages are perfect for creative couples who crave a unique celebration that still includes all the joy, flavor, and magic of a full-on wedding, just on a smaller scale. Only 2 hours’ drive from NYC, our property is a private estate with historic character and tons of charm, open year-round for unforgettable gatherings— spring and summer soirées, autumnal forest feasts, or cozy, enchanting winter weddings.

Designed for small gatherings of up to 50 guests, our micro wedding packages are perfect for couples dreaming of a beautifully curated, low-stress celebration with high-impact charm and next-level photo opps.
Unlike many upstate farm venues, our micro weddings are year-round: our indoor spaces are temperature-controlled! You'll have an option for an outdoor ceremony at our Forest Site or a tender exchange of vows inside our eclectic Barn. With every aspect of your celebration curated by our expert team, you can just show up and let the magic and memories unfold.
This isn't an 'all-inclusive package' in the hotel ballroom sense of the word (you won't find any plated salmon or polyester chair covers here). This is Black Walnut Farm— where the grazing tables are gorgeous, the DJ spins vinyl, and your special day still feels 100% like you.
You'll enjoy exclusive use of our historic estate, including a lovingly restored 1891 barn and 34 acres of beautiful gardens, meadows, and creekside trails. With a full ceremony and wedding reception (cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and bonfire hour after-party included!), you can savor every spontaneous moment without the pressure of traditional planning.

Winter Weddings? We're Just Getting Warmed Up
While many Hudson Valley venues shutter for the season, Black Walnut Farm shines year-round. Our cozy, heated barn makes a magical backdrop for cold-weather celebrations, and we embrace the season with thoughtful touches— like outdoor heaters, cozy blankets for guests, twinkly fairy lights and evergreens, and a hot cocoa + cider bar by the bonfire. Winter adds extra intimacy and charm– plus major off-season photo magic.
Add on a wedding night stay in our farmhouse- with two woodburning fireplaces and a hot tub, it's a winter wonderland. And since we're close to world-class skiing at Hunter, Windham, and Belleayre, your guests might make a weekend getaway out of it!

Our barn is anything but ordinary. Think: vintage farm tables, a 4-foot disco ball, antique lounge furniture, and quirky, collected details. You won't need to bring in rentals or over-decorate; every space is already layered with charm, color, and history. The natural beauty of the Hudson Valley does a lot of the heavy lifting, too ;)
From forest to fire pit, every inch of the property invites spontaneous moments, heartfelt toasts, and memory-making.

Most couples book 8-14 months in advance, but we occasionally have last-minute dates available– reach out and ask! Since we provide pretty much everything you need (minus perhaps a photographer), we can quickly pull these together.

Our micro wedding package is thoughtfully priced to include all the magic, service, and style we're known for— whether you have 20 guests or 50. While we totally understand the question, the core costs of staffing, setup, preparation, and decor stay the same no matter the guest count, and there needs to be minimum budget allocations to food and beverage to make this offering fruitful for our catering partner to participate. That said, fewer people means more elbow room, extra charcuterie, and a more intimate experience!

Yes! The barn is fully heated, and we provide outdoor heaters, cozy blankets, and twinkle lights in the forest if you opt for an outdoor ceremony. Our Hot Cocoa & Cider Bar during the bonfire hour also makes for an unforgettable late-night touch.

Yes! Our beautifully restored 1891 barn is temperature-controlled, making a perfect cozy Plan B (or Plan A!) for year-round ceremonies and receptions.

Access to our historic farmhouse before the ceremony is available for an additional fee. This package add-on includes a mimosa bar and a wedding attendant to help steam garments and attend to your needs for a relaxing morning. This package add-on is pending availability; please inquire.

Our catering partner is excellent with special requests and offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. We'll work with you to make sure everyone is happy and full.

Our micro wedding package is designed for up to 50 guests, but we can accommodate up to 75 with advance notice and per-person pricing after the 50-person base fee. Just ask!

The provided cake is a simple, petite white 'cutting cake' used for the cake-cutting ceremony; you are welcome to bring in a specialty cake from an outside baker.

While the florals are locally sourced according to seasonal availability, you'll need to put yourself in our capable hands and trust that they will be lovely. You can, however, pick your table runner colors.

In May-August, we have two potential timeslots for our micro-weddings: 11:00 am-4:00 pm and 5:30 pm-10:30 pm. This is designed for minimal overlap if both timeslots are booked.

Nope. Our Micro Wedding package includes a Day-of Coordinator and planning guidance to keep everything smooth, stylish, and stress-free.

There is an 8% Sales Tax on the package as per NY State. We also add a 15% Service Fee, which is shared among our fantastic venue team. No gratuities are expected or required.
