With its curated design and eclectic charm, Black Walnut Farm offers a refreshingly stylish alternative to the typical event venue (more ‘disco ball’, less ‘banquet hall’, if you will.) Set on 34 private acres where Hudson Valley meets the Catskill Mountains, Black Walnut Farm is more than just a beautiful backdrop- it’s a fully immersive event space. With expansive meadows, wildflower gardens, and lush woodlands, the property is an invitation to relax and revel. Our lovingly restored 1891 barn is open year-round, heated in cooler months and air-conditioned for summer comfort.

Beyond the barn, the property offers endless possibilities for creative programming and connection. Meander through our private forest trails for a group hike or guided foraging workshop. Host sunrise yoga or team-building games on our wide-open lawns. Two satellite bars on-site provide flexible options for al fresco cocktail hours or post-dinner sips under the stars.

The Venue: Historic, Eclectic, and Effortlessly Cool

Our barn is anything but ordinary. You’ll find antique lounge furniture, twinkle lights, vintage farm tables, and a 4-foot disco ball. No rental furniture needed: this place already looks like a magazine shoot. The natural beauty of the Hudson Valley does a lot of the heavy lifting, too!

We’re located just 2 hours from NYC and offer a private, serene setting with just the right amount of party energy.

From the fire pit to the forest, our venue is designed for connection, whether it's an impromptu toast or a formal presentation. Every rental includes a full AV package with sound system, mic, projector, and screen so you can focus on the moment, not the tech.

Unlike many Hudson Valley venues, we’re open all year. Our cozy, heated barn makes a magical backdrop for cold-weather celebrations, while summertime shindigs will have your guests cool as a cucumber: that’s right, we are fully air-conditioned too. No matter the weather, Black Walnut Farm is always in season.

Hosting in spring or fall? Our outdoor cocktail spaces stay toasty thanks to fire pits and patio heaters. (Hot toddy bar? We can make it happen.)

Signature Package: $5500 | 4 Hour Event

Your Rental Includes:

  • Full Open Bar for up to 50 guests (per-person bar pricing available over 50)

  • Sparkling Welcome Toast

  • Venue Staff: Event Coordinator, Bartender, Venue Manager + support team

  • Signature Decor: 10 farmhouse tables, 100 vintage chairs, 150 willowback chairs, multiple antique display tables for beverage stations, gifts, or cake

Planning a multi-day event or hosting guests from out of town? Our onsite accommodations offer the perfect home base for your group. The beautifully restored farmhouse sleeps up to 8 guests across multiple bedrooms, with cozy common spaces, two wood-burning fireplaces, and a private hot tub overlooking the forest: ideal for unwinding after a full day of celebration or brainstorming.

For leadership retreats and creative workshops, staying onsite means no commuting or coordination hassles, just more time to connect, relax, and enjoy the full experience of Black Walnut Farm.

Need more space? No problem. We’re surrounded by charming local inns, boutique hotels, and nearby Airbnb options to comfortably host your entire group.
